Princess Amalia did her holiday job under this alias

“I’m a bit clumsy, you know, and not a hero with trays,” said the princess.

After all the threats of the past years, it is almost unimaginable, but there was a time when Amalia could still have a ‘normal’ part-time job. But for that, a small disguise and a pseudonym were needed.

Other times

Unfortunately, Princess Amalia can no longer leave the house without security, but a few years ago – before all the serious threats – our future queen also had a part-time job like everyone else. At least: she occasionally helped out in the beach bar of the parents of a ‘very good friend’. In the book she wrote for her eighteenth birthday in collaboration with Claudia de Breij, she tells about this fun time.

For example, the princess shared that she felt a bit uncomfortable when she ate at the beach bar (which no longer exists) without paying. That is why she decided to help out occasionally during busy times. According to her, our crown princess will never be a real hospitality tiger. “I am clumsy, mind you, and not a hero with trays.”

pseudonym

In order to be recognized as little as possible by guests, Amalia put her hair up or even wore it under a cap. She also stayed under the radar by using a pseudonym: Claire. This alias came from her own mind and appeared on receipts of guests she had helped. Because let’s be honest, seeing the name ‘Amalia’ on the bill undoubtedly raises questions. The princess came up with the pseudonym herself and also used it during her work in a kitchen for two summers.
