It was quite a scare last Monday. Shortly after the news that Charles had recovered well from prostate surgery, Buckingham Palace announced that the king had been diagnosed with a ‘form of cancer’. Charles has a good reason for his striking openness about his health. “His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to avoid speculation and in the hope that this can support public understanding for everyone in the world affected by cancer,” Buckingham Palace said.
Get well soon wishes
Since the statement from the British court, well wishes for the king have been pouring in from all kinds of quarters. Many well-known Britons have expressed their support for the monarch, and even the leader of the anti-monarchy Republic movement wished Charles the best of luck.
