Fans of Married At First Sight only have to wait a little longer. The new ninth season will finally start on January 16, 2024. Exciting! Hopefully it will be a new season with more lasting relationships that last longer. Although the chance is certainly there, because the makers have added a big change (and possibly a good improvement).
New season of Married At First Sight has started
The reality program Married At First Sight will soon start its ninth season. From Tuesday January 16, 2024 we will follow seven matches. They have been matched by science and then tie the knot ‘blindly’. Hopefully it will indeed turn out to be a good, lasting relationship. However, we see in the history of MAFS that marriages do not often last. Of the 43 couples in total, only five couples are still together. The rest broke off the marriage after the recordings. That is why scientists remain alert to innovations. A big change will also take place in season 9 of Married At First Sight, the experts reveal to Veronica Superguide.
Third day of testing
Last season also saw a small change within the team. Then relationship coach Anne Campagne was added. In this way she ensured more diversity within the team, consisting of behavioral biologist Patrick van Veen, sexologist and psychologist Eveline Stallaart and professional matchmaker Radboud Visser. The experts at Married At First Sight are true professionals and want their scientific love experiment to succeed. That’s why another big change is happening in the new season of MAFS. This time they added a third test day to the experiment. On the third test day, extensive research is conducted into why a candidate is still single. “We look critically at what someone has to bring to a relationship,” says Patrick.
Improved experiment?
The MAFS team hopes the experiment will be improved by the change. “With this extensive conversation about the history of the singles, we as experts get to know the participants better,” says Eveline. In addition, the viewer also gets to know another side of the candidates. The experts investigate, among other things, why things went wrong in previous relationships. “This way you better understand during the broadcasts why a candidate withdraws when things get difficult or makes a seemingly strange choice,” says Eveline. In any case, the sexologist himself is happy with the innovation. With the third test day they want to break down any wall around candidates. This way, candidates will hopefully enter the experiment more openly!
