Meghan Markle shares sweet update on ‘chatty’ offspring

“How does your life feel when it is so out of balance?” said the Duchess.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were on a three-day tour of Nigeria last weekend. At the invitation of General Christopher Musa, the head of the Nigerian army, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended the Invictus Games. Moreover, Meghan shared a sweet update about her offspring here.

Maternity

At the Women in Leadership event, which Meghan organized together with Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, she wore a stylish red dress by Orire, a young female designer from Nigeria. At the event, which highlighted the power of female leadership, she spoke with a smile about her experience as a mother. She always wondered how to balance motherhood and a career. For example, she talked about a conversation during a lunch during her Suits period with Bonnie Hammer from NBCUniversal. “She was a huge mentor and continues to be a huge mentor to me,” she said. “I asked her exactly this question: ‘How do you find the balance?’ And she said, ‘You don’t do that, you’ll never find the balance,’” she added.

“And this was before I was married, had kids and before everything else in my life went through a major change,” she joked. “It stayed with me for a long time. How can she be so successful when she is also a mother, married and says you will never find balance? So what does life feel like when it’s out of balance?,” she added. Now Meg thinks differently about this. According to her, being in balance does not always have the same meaning, but your perspective on it changes over time. “Motherhood has always been a dream of mine. I am so happy that we have two beautiful, healthy and talkative sweet children,” she said.

Pride

Before the visit, Meghan found out that she is 43 percent Nigerian. At the event, the Duchess was asked how she felt about this. “I feel flattered, honored and inspired,” she said. “And every moment I hear someone talk about what it means to them to be a Nigerian woman, I am flattered to be in this company, to be in your company,” she added.

The 27-year-old soldier and athlete wears a prosthesis and said he wants to go to the Vancouver Invictus Games to compete in alpine skiing and skeleton sliding. He thanked Harry for launching the Games ten years ago.

Invictus Games

Earlier that day, the Duke and Duchess attended an Invictus Games-related event. At the training session for the Nigeria: Unconquered organization at the Defense Headquarters Officers’ Mess in Asokoro, Abuja, the couple was invited to watch a sitting volleyball match. The oh-so-sporty Harry was also invited to participate in the training. Amid a ‘Team Harry’ cheering crowd, Meghan also cheered on her husband, revealing to a nine-year-old in the audience that Haz enjoys playing volleyball. According to the Duchess, he is also ‘very good’ at that. Meghan too, she is a real supporter of her sweetheart.
