Yesterday she put Iris van Herpen in the spotlight, today it is Claes Iversen’s turn.

Queen Máxima visits the exhibition Viviane Sassen – Phosphor: Art & Fashion this morning at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie. She is given a tour of the exhibition and speaks with Sassen about her work. She also meets some French/Dutch photographers who live and/or work across the border.

The Maison Européenne de la Photographie is a center for contemporary photography and houses a wide collection of photos and videos from the 1950s to the present. Viviane Sassen – Phosphor: Art & Fashion is the first retrospective of Dutch photographer Viviane Sassen in France and contains more than 200 photographs, collages, videos, art and mixed-media pieces. In addition to previously exhibited work, the exhibition also contains never-before-seen archival material. The exhibition is structured along two lines; the ceaseless search for new photographic techniques and forms and the importance of intimacy in Sassen’s work. Sassen has exhibited all over the world and also regularly participates in group exhibitions such as FLASH | BACK in the Mauritshuis in 2022. In 2007, Sassen won the Prix de Rome. The exhibition can be viewed until February 11.

Fashion
As I wrote yesterday in a blog about Máxima’s recycling party, the queen is currently retrieving many outfits from about six, seven or eight years old. Today the choice fell on a robe manteau by Claes Iversen, which debuted in 2015.

The first photos, thanks to Thijs van der Giessen:

The three butterflies were purchased from Argentinian jeweler Celedonio, who made the brooches from recycled materials.

The gold earrings were designed by the Danish jewelry label Monies.

Could the new bracelet be a gift from Brigitte Macron or Iris van Herpen?
