Unfortunately, Edith (52) is not lucky. She is left alone in Austria with her son Mats, whom she apparently had quite unexpectedly. For example, Edith actually thought she couldn’t have children, but then she suddenly found herself pregnant.
Winter full of Love-Edith unexpectedly became pregnant
If you have been a fan of watching Winter full of Love, you know that Edith lives and works in the Austrian town of Tyrol. Here she rents out apartments and sells glamping chalets. However, this was actually not her original plan, Edith says in an interview with De Telegraaf. When she was still in primary school, she initially dreamed of having her own campsite in Timbuktu. And she later actually put that plan on paper, although the plans did change slightly. “My then partner – Mats’ father – let me investigate my plan further,” she says. “After a six-year search, we finally ended up in Tösens together.”
The couple had only just settled in Austria when Edith suddenly turned out to be pregnant. Yes, it was really unexpected. What seems? Edith was initially unable to have children at all.
Intense delivery from Mats
At the age of thirty, Edith had a serious car accident with unpleasant consequences. “I was hit from behind in a traffic jam, which hit my stomach so badly that it eventually became one big scar tissue,” she says. As a result, her ovaries have grown together. According to a doctor, this prevented her from becoming pregnant naturally. Only then it turns out to be different. Suddenly she is pregnant again out of nowhere.
Mats’ birth and pregnancy were intense due to the pain in her abdomen. After giving birth, she also had a hard time, but more because she had to get used to motherhood.
Love of my life
Fortunately, she is now completely used to that. “Our bond only became strong when Mats started walking and could really do something,” says Edith. “And now he’s the love of my life!” Aww. And Edith is not the only one who adores her son. Viewers of Winter full of Love were also very impressed by the sweet Mats at the time. He quickly became the favorite supporting actor from the first season.
Edith calls Mats a “gift”. It was because of him that she really started to appreciate life and know what was important. “Those are my friends, family and my child. And then hopefully one day that other great love will come, because I am really ready for that now,” says Edith.
