The new season of Kamp van Koningsbrugge has started again, and it’s off to a good start. Or well, good spicy! As usual, the first students immediately struggle with their physical and mental condition. And this seems to be just the tip of the iceberg, because according to some viewers on social media, this will be the “toughest season ever”. Oof!
Kamp van Koningsbrugge: season 4
Apparently we also like to watch other people working hard on TV. TV programs such as Special Forces VIPS and Kamp van Koningsbrugge are always very popular. Once again, a lot of people watched the first episode of Kamp van Koningsbrugge season 4, as we see on social media. And some viewers may find this season tougher than ever! If you have never seen the TV program, we will briefly explain what it entails. In Kamp van Koningsbrugge, a group of fifteen normal citizens starts a course, working on the core values of the Commando Troops Corps. The students are put to the test both physically and mentally. All under the guidance of instructors Ray Klaassens and Dai Carter. They also receive mental support from presenter Jeroen van Koningsbrugge, who put together the group.
Although the previous seasons of Kamp van Koningsbrugge were very tough, this season seems to be even tougher. So we immediately see at the beginning how strict the instructors are. It seems that the group of candidates has changed properly within two minutes, but it is not perfect. Therefore, they have to change back into normal clothes and then into their army outfits. And this is just the beginning…
Respect for Astrid
In particular, 30-year-old Astrid, who works as a sociotherapist, immediately has difficulty keeping up with the rest in the first episode. She keeps falling behind the group, which is why she regularly receives comments from the instructors. “I think they’ve been waiting for you for two minutes, huh, Astrid,” Ray confronts her. She is ashamed of this, she says in a confession. She would prefer to just finish the course. She would be ashamed if she did half the job. In the meantime, she is really struggling with her physical condition. Can she actually keep this up?
Already so much respect for the participants #campofkoningsbrugge
Especially Astrid, she is having such a hard time…

I can’t do it better myself, but Astrid seems to have underestimated the program or overestimated herself. So much backlog. Each. Assignment. Weather. #KampVanKoningsbrugge

Spicy start
Unfortunately for Astrid, as might be expected, she doesn’t last longer than a few hours. “A size too big,” she says to Jeroen afterwards. In the first episode, the participants are also directly confronted with the so-called mud beasting, which is very infamous among the Royal Marines. This is an extremely tough training, and it is not only Astrid who struggles with it. Just imagine having to move in stinking, cold mud. That alone is very heavy and then you have to do sit-ups. Phew! Later, 38-year-old Damien also visibly struggles when he suddenly stops lying in the mud. Due to his low fat percentage, he quickly becomes hypothermic. 31-year-old communications advisor Julian also suffers from this. They both get the chance to move on. Of course they have to prove themselves and try to counter this next time. It’s a tough start, but great TV for the viewers!
Quite a bit of beasting indeed 😅 #KampVanKoningsbrugge pic.twitter.com/JMSGdJ8ECS

Just like every season, I wonder why you voluntarily allow yourself to be tortured and barked at. But it does make for great TV! And respect for the participants. #campofkoningsbrugge
