Joost Klein in Enschede
Joost’s performance in Enschede will be the first performance after his disqualification from the Eurovision Song Contest. “We are busy preparing the show for next Sunday,” says the festival spokesperson. “We expect a spectacle and can’t wait for it to happen.” There are still day tickets available for the festival, so if you want to support Joost and your heart, this is your chance to shout along with Europapa.
Disqualification
Joost was disqualified during the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday. Yes, we had to cry a little about this too. Everyone wanted Joost so much to participate in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Everyone was therefore in shock when the news about the disqualification came out. Due to the incident with a camerawoman, he was disqualified from the final. To date, Joost has not yet responded substantively to this situation. The singer is doing ‘pretty well’ according to Twan van de Nieuwenhuizen, Head of Delegation at AVROTROS. We also saw that Joost no longer follows anyone on Instagram and he shared a mysterious video showing dogs with the song ‘Who let the dogs out’.
The incident
Not much is known about the incident that disqualified Joost. Joost is said to have made a ‘threatening’ gesture to a camerawoman who was filming him. It was the agreement that he would not be filmed and yet this was done. According to (anonymous) sources, Joost Klein apologized immediately after the incident, but it is not clear whether these apologies were also conveyed to the camera women. Joost admitted that he had made a threatening movement, but he did not touch the woman. The Swedish police have announced that the Public Prosecution Service is starting a case against Joost; Joost’s file will be presented to the court in June.
