A special love story began here. Queen Elizabeth II (✝96) and her husband Prince Philip (✝99) were a close-knit team throughout their lives. From the dream wedding until Philip’s death in April 2021, the couple was considered the epitome of royal love. It all started at Britannia Royal Naval College. And Prince William (41) is now paying a visit and using the moment to remember his grandparents’ love story.
As People reports, William visits the naval school on behalf of his father King Charles (75) on the occasion of the so-called Lord High Admiral’s Division, where the young Elizabeth met her future husband for the first time. “The Britannia Royal Naval College will always have a very special place in my heart. It is known that my grandmother and grandfather met here, while my great-grandfather, King George VI, carried out exactly this task,” says the heir to the throne in loving memory.
In recent weeks, Charles has also had the opportunity to remember his late parents. In honor of the Queen and her husband he unveiled a monument for the Festival of Remembrance – a moment that visibly made him emotional, as the monarch had tears in his eyes. After all, he not only had his wife Camilla (76), but also William, his wife Princess Kate (41) and his sister Princess Anne (73) with him to support him.
