Michael J. Fox (62) goes through life gratefully. In the 80s, the actor became a global star after starring in the Back to the Future film trilogy. Just a few years later he had to cope with a terrible diagnosis: in 1992, at the age of 29, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. The disease causes, among other things, walking difficulties and gaps in knowledge. Michael still sees his illness as something positive!
“Parkinson’s has always been a gift. It has been a gift that keeps on giving. It has been a gift because it has given me an audience to talk about what is possible,” he explains at the National Board of Review Gala in New York City, DailyMail reports. There was Michael the prize for best documentary film was awarded. “Film Still: A Michael J Fox Movie” is about his life with the illness. “He made me say things I would never have said,” enthuses the 62-year-old about director Davis Guggenheim.
It has been around for decades Michael dedicated to education about Parkinson’s disease. He not only ensures visibility of the disease on television or at events, but has also founded his own foundation for Parkinson’s research. At the last charity gala, he and his family were all smiles and attracted numerous Hollywood stars to the event for a good cause.
