Dries Roelvink, Dave Roelvink’s father, has finally met Marijn Kuipers, his son’s new girlfriend. Although Dries has given his approval, he honestly admits that he first scoured the entire internet to find out more about Marijn Kuipers before meeting her.
Dries looks for everyone first
“Yes, I looked her up straight away. I do that with everyone. If someone calls me or asks me something, I immediately look on Instagram or search on Google: who is that person? Whether it’s a journalist or someone who wants to work with me, I want to know what they’ve done in their life,” he tells Weekend.
Dries is positive, but misses Jazzlyn
Although Dries is very fond of Marijn and understands why Dave fell for her because of their shared love of fitness, he admits that he misses Jazzlyn, Dave’s ex-girlfriend. Dries and his wife Honoria had grown very attached to Jazzlyn during her relationship with Dave. “Honoria and I have grown very attached to Jazzlyn. We are very fond of her and miss Jazz too. She still feels like our daughter-in-law and she is a very good mother. It is painful that we see Jazz less now.”
Dave Roelvink takes Jazzlyn’s feelings into account
Dave learned from his father’s mistake and personally informed Jazzlyn about his new relationship before the news hit the media. He didn’t want her to read it somewhere, like Dries’ ex-wife Luciënne had to do when she read that Dries was getting married again. Painful! Dave also indicated that he will keep the child he had with Jazzlyn separate from Marijn for the time being, a decision that Jazzlyn fully supports.
The End of Dave and Jazzlyn
Dave’s previous relationship was with Jazzlyn. At the end of December it was announced that they were breaking up. “I want to let you know that my girlfriend and I have decided to end our relationship,” Dave shared on Instagram at the time. He emphasized that they had separated in harmony and had made good arrangements for their son Dean, who was born in 2021.
