The fifth of December is already around the corner! Sinterklaas is of course a children’s party, but you can also celebrate it in a very fun way with your friends. Even if they no longer believe in Santa. This is how you approach it nicely.
Let your friends get creative with the presents
The best part of a Sinterklaas party is of course the gifts. If you have a large group, it is fun to draw lots or make surprises. This means that handing out the gifts does not take too long and everyone still receives a personal gift. For slightly smaller groups it is fun to play a dice game. Ask everyone to buy one or two small gifts that everyone in the group would enjoy. Then, sit in a circle during the party and give everyone one or two gifts that they are not yet allowed to open. Then take a die and make a list of rules for each number on the die. For example, have everyone pass a gift to the right if one is rolled or have someone open a present if they roll six. Continue until all the gifts have been unwrapped. If everyone in the group drinks alcohol, you can also add some fun alcohol-related rules to the game. The nice thing about the dice game is that you can make it last as long or short as you want and you can make the rules as crazy as you want!
Snacks, snacks, snacks!
With Sinterklaas, snacks should of course not be missing. Think of gingerbread, gingerbread, chocolate letters and so on! These snacks must of course be present. But you can also approach it differently. For example, ask your friends to make something themselves and take it with them. So you have a Santa walking buffet. You can also be creative when it comes to drinks. For example, make cocktails inspired by Santa Claus.
Write poems for each other
The poems should not be missing from very close groups of friends. This allows you to let the creative poets of the group shine and also write some funny and sweet poems to each other. As far as we are concerned, the poem is an indispensable part of the Sinterklaas celebration, so even if you celebrate with your friends, this is just part of it.
Make it a game night
Game nights are always fun! You can also do this on Sinterklaas evening, but slightly differently. For example, choose games where the winner always gets to unwrap a present. Just make sure that the same games are not played over and over again and that the same people always win. Of course it has to remain fun!
