Bureau Rotterdam viewers in tears due to animal suffering after house fire: “my heart breaks”

Ewout Genemans’ popular TV program Bureau Rotterdam left viewers in droves crying in front of the TV. This time not only people were victims of suffering, but also a lot of hopeless pets. A number of sweet animals did not survive a major house fire. As a result, the episode goes down as another extremely intense episode.

Pets died after house fire in Bureau Rotterdam

The latest episode of Bureau Rotterdam is another intense episode. Not only do viewers hear the story of a man who was abused by ten people. What? There is also the story of a house fire. Officers Andrea and Alex are on their way to the house fire during their day shift, which is also believed to involve a number of pets. When they arrive at the house, the fire brigade is already busy putting out the fire. They also just entered the house looking for possible victims. Fortunately, the residents appear not to be at home, but that does not mean that the house is deserted. The pets are all inside and you guessed it: a lot of animals do not survive the fire. Oh no! “I think they found the dog,” Alex says at one point. “There’s some kind of body bag there.” Then later, we see more small animals being added to the body bag. The deceased animals appear to have suffocated from smoke. Aww…

Sad viewers

Not only the officers and presenter Ewout Genemans are greatly affected by the animal suffering. Viewers on social media channel X were also in tears in front of the TV. “My heart always breaks a little more for animals in these kinds of situations,” writes one viewer, for example. “Animals cannot leave, but people can. (…) The hopelessness of the animals is what breaks me even more.” This is also what officer Andrea tells Ewout. “The animals are just locked up, they don’t understand that they have to open a door,” she says. “I think that really sucks.”

Residents are logically not allowed to enter while the fire brigade is still busy. Something that Andrea would secretly have difficulty with if she were told this. As a cat owner, she knows well what it is like to have pets of her own. “I know it’s not wise,” she says. “But you know, yes… That animal is in your heart and you have it at home 24/7. I can feel this.”
