Benjamin in Winter full of Love
Time flies in Winter full of Love, where the participants only have a week left for their quest. 26-year-old catering employee Benjamin is one of them and still has to work hard. At the moment he still hasn’t found someone with whom it feels good. In episode 13, only 31-year-old Joshua walks by his house, because unfortunately it didn’t work with Olivier-Bas. Although Joshua does not appear to be the ideal love partner for Benjamin, he now notices. After a week, the madly in love, enthusiastic Joshua is back, but unfortunately the bomb has exploded between him and the catering employee. As usual, Benjamin enlists the help of his good friend Anna. She always knows what to do!
End for Joshua
However, through the conversation with Anna, Benjamin comes to a sad decision for Joshua: he has to leave. In the conversation with Anna, she tells her good friend that she does not really appreciate Joshua. “I wouldn’t accept it if someone started yelling at me after seven days on the phone,” she says honestly. “And I wouldn’t say you’re in love after seven days either.” She finds that a bit strange. She also got the feeling that Joshua was very much claiming Benjamin. According to Anna, he crossed a line with Benjamin as soon as Joshua started demanding things. As far as she is concerned, it is over and done with.
When Benjamin wants to convey the bad news to the lovelorn bachelor, Joshua then comes up with a kind of plot twist. “I’ve made a decision,” he begins, before telling him he wants to go home. Oh, alright. “It’s not up to you,” he says. “I never wanted to miss what I experienced here with you.” Despite his decision, he remains quite complimentary about Benjamin, who now also has a statement in mind. And that is a slightly more intense statement than Joshua’s. Oh dear…
Viewers praise Benjamin’s choice
After Joshua’s words, Benjamin completely disagrees. According to him, Joshua would like to keep control, but that is not possible with Winter full of Love. “You’re not in constant control. I’m somewhat in control,” Benjamin said. He thinks Joshua has difficulty with that and runs away from his feelings. “You cannot adapt to someone else and you want it to be the way you want it. You are very dominant in that regard. And um, I prefer not to use the word, but a bit manipulative,” Benjamin continues. “I think it’s a big middle finger to me.” Oof! Although Joshua remains silent during Benjamin’s rant, he says it means a lot to him. According to him, Benjamin does care about him: “That [gesprek, red.] You’re not with someone you don’t like, or at least you don’t care a bit about.”
Yet Benjamin currently thinks there is no future for them. “You’re not going to bring out the best in me,” he says. When Joshua tries to say something else, Benjamin no longer lets him finish. He’s done with it. Something that most viewers on social media channel X are satisfied with. “Benjamin has risen greatly in my estimation tonight,” writes one viewer, while another cheers: “Finally. Bye Joshua!”

Joshua and his ‘100 men’
It is not certain whether Joshua is really disappointed with his departure in Winter full of Love. For example, according to Benjamin’s mother, he said that “there are at least 100 men waiting for him in Amsterdam.” We hear this later in a conversation between mother and son. Were the tears at his departure real? And does he really believe that they will see each other again? He says he hopes so, but will it really happen…
In any case, Benjamin is visibly relieved when Joshua drives away in the bus. “I have the idea with him that sometimes I have to pretend to be a little nicer, more successful or more beautiful than I actually am,” he responds to the camera. “That doesn’t work for me.” Let’s hope that Michiel, Benjamin’s last man, is a lot less intense.
So Joshua leaves with tears in his eyes because he was quite in love and still has the hope that Benjamin will still visit him and then Joshua would have told Benjamin that at least 100 men are waiting for him in Amsterdam? 🤔🤨 #winterfulllove
