Classy, elegant, yet businesslike.
When you think of queens with a wardrobe containing only designer labels, you quickly think of Princess Charlene of Monaco, for example. But the Jordanian queen Rania also proves time and time again that you can be a deadly serious career woman with the snazziest outfits from the most expensive designers. This week, she appeared side by side with her husband, King Abdullah, and son, Prince Al Hussein, at the White House for an appointment with President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden.
Jordanian royals
The royal family of Jordan is quite popular among fellow prominent figures. For example, our own King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima were front row at the wedding of Crown Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa and plenty of Euroyals showed up at both the ceremony and the reception.
Yesterday’s visit by the Jordanian royal couple was also the first visit by an Arab head of state to the White House since the escalation in the Gaza Strip last October. Officially, the visit was to celebrate 75 years of good relations between the United States and Jordan, but a White House press spokesman indicated that there would also be discussions “on the current situation in Gaza and efforts to find a lasting end” to this crisis.’
Dior
For the occasion, Rania dressed from head to toe in Dior, a label that the queen has repeatedly shown herself to be a fan of. And don’t blame her – HM is the epitome of business elegance!
The fashion expert behind Instagram account Royal Fashion Police knows how to describe the outfit as a cashmere sweater, a wool midi skirt, and a perfectly matching set of metallic pumps. Our favorite detail has to be the subtly matching pearls on the sweater and the matching Dior bag. Classy!
It is striking that the queen may have borrowed from her daughter-in-law’s wardrobe. Last September, Rajwa appeared in exactly the same dress with her husband in Washington.
In short: Dior means business, for the Jordanians! And hey, as real career women, we might as well follow their good example, nun? That €4,200 must undoubtedly be worth it.
