Rachel Hazes’ long-awaited dream has finally come true. She opens Brasserie Casa Hazes in Torremolinos on the Spanish coast. Enjoy a nice drink in the Spanish sun, tasty dishes and Hazes in the background. Not only that, but ‘Rachel’s cremated croquettes’ are also on the menu and they are immediately extremely popular. We see the humor in it. Would you also order this?
Brasserie Casa Hazes
The idea of opening this brasserie is not new. Rachel had been thinking about this idea since André’s death. According to her, André had several wishes, including opening his own Café Hazes. She already hinted at this on her socials last year. Now the time has finally come: Brasserie Casa Hazes in Torremolinos has opened and is already attracting a lot of visitors. “I like people and I like catering, so I really feel at home here,” says Rachel with a big smile on her face. Rachel takes over the business from Melanie Beense and Casper Groosman; they return to the Netherlands. They still help Rachel in the beginning, but are confident that everything will turn out well with Rachel as the new owner.

A cremated croquette
Now you may be wondering what you get if you reserve a table at Brasserie Casa Hazes. Well, a lot, but what stands out most on the menu are the ‘cremated croquettes’. Of course, we all remember the case of Yvonne Coldeweijer and Rachel Hazes in which Rachel filed a lawsuit against Yvonne because she called her ‘cremated croquette’. Rachel even serves them in special plastic containers, namely coffins. “That’s humor,” Rachel says proudly.
Rachel in Spain
The intention is for Rachel to live part-time in Spain. She thinks that actually moving is still a big step, but she says she will be there a lot. In the Netherlands she doesn’t have much to stay ahead of anymore (except for lawsuits with loved ones and other situations). Making a new start somewhere else sounds literally and figuratively like music to your ears.
Rachel and Roxeanne lawsuit
A few days ago, Rachel and her daughter Roxeanne were still in court. This case mainly concerned financial matters that still occurred in the family. We also heard during this lawsuit that Rachel left her son André Jr. had briefly disinherited.
