Royal fans can watch the royal family again this year. Christmas is just around the corner and, especially for the royals, the holidays are filled with traditions every year. This includes visiting St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham with the whole family on Christmas Day. And in 2023, King Charles (75) and his family will return to this church.
Buckingham Palace has now confirmed this to the press. As reported by People, among others, Charles and his entire family are taking part in the service at St. Mary Magdalene Church again this year. The monarch will lead the way to the church on a walk with his wife Camilla (76). The royal family has been attending this service for generations, so it has now become a tradition, just like the walk.
Even though Charles introduced some innovations to the royal Christmas, it was not very different from the festivals that his mother Queen Elizabeth (✝96) celebrated. Expert Carolina Perry told the magazine that the royal was “very keen to maintain many of his late mother’s traditions.” 2023 will be only the second Christmas that the 75-year-old will celebrate on the throne.
