The prince found it difficult to keep a straight face.
Last weekend the festive Royal Variety Performance was finally broadcast, an annual entertainment spectacle traditionally attended by a delegation of Windsors. In addition to Prince William and Princess Kate, the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel also took place in the royal box this time, and if we can believe the images, the royals had a great time!
Royal Variety
From Christmas speeches to Christmas cards and from Together at Christmas to Royal Variety Performance: the British are busy in December. On the eve of the festive month, the festive Royal Variety Performance was again on the program, which was broadcast on TV for the general viewer this weekend.
During this special evening, the cultural crème de la crème from all over the Commonwealth can show what they have to offer for a particularly honored audience. For years, several Windsors have attended this evening of entertainment to clap friendly and show that that stiff upper lip is quite capable of a hearty laugh.
Prince in tears
Of course, such an evening also includes all kinds of emotional performances. For example, ex-Spice Girl Melanie C moved the audience with an ode to theater CEO Bill Kenwright, who passed away earlier this year.
But the one that had the biggest impact? That was comedian Tom Allen! Images circulating on social media show the Prince of Wales crying and hiccuping with laughter in the royal box.

During the set of London comedian Tom Allen, Wills clearly fails to keep a straight face, and the cameras spot him having to wipe the tears from his eyes. As a comedian you can’t get a bigger compliment, nun?
Special evening
While Tom Allen was clearly the hands-down winner of the night, the royals had plenty more fun to enjoy. The casts of various West End musicals put their best foot forward, and there were musical performances by McFly, Paloma Faith, and Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham, among others. And to top it all off, living legend Cher gave a wonderful performance.
In short: a very good evening of entertainment to entertain your fellow royals!
