Mark Baanders about many positive reactions from Expedition Robinson viewers: “most beautiful gift”

The current season of Expedition Robinson not only featured a lot of arguments and drama, but also something very fun. Or actually a nice person, namely Mark Baanders. In no time he becomes the big favorite among TV viewers, who would rather not see him go. Fortunately he appears, but unfortunately for them and Mark, just not until the final. Although he can look back on a wonderful adventure, and he is grateful for all the positive reactions and attention.

Mark about positive reactions by Expeditie Robinson

There’s a good chance that a lot of viewers of Expedition Robinson were in tears in front of the TV yesterday. The trendsetter and audience favorite of the popular TV program has unfortunately left the island. Audience favorite Mark Baanders came second twice in a test in the semi-finals, but still just missed out on making it to the final. Nooo! Fortunately, he stayed there pretty much until the end, because many viewers did not want to miss him. In addition, thanks to him, we will always play petanque instead of bocce from now on. *wink*

In any case, Mark is grateful for all the positive reactions and attention from TV viewers. For example, on Sunday evening during the Renze talk show, he calls it “the most wonderful gift” that people now know him better as a ‘person’.

Get to know better

Before this season of Expedition Robinson aired, a lot of people had prejudices about Mark. As many know, he works as a reporter at broadcaster PowNed, where he is known as the ‘grinder’ because of his hoarse voice. PowNed reporters are usually known as brutal, annoying journalists. But Mark turns out to be a friendly and fun person, but also a bit naive about the game. Although that makes him even more fun, making him the audience favorite in no time.

By the way, Mark had no idea how he was known to people. “I was in a bubble with people who followed me and found my videos hilarious,” he explains to Renze Klamer in his talk show. The fact that people got to know him better in Expedition Robinson helps in his work. For example, Mark tells Geraldine Kemper in Back2Base that his street interviews are now easier for him. “At first people were quite shy,” he says. People were afraid of his personality and difficult questions. “But I notice that it has brought a lot to my work, because people open up to me much more easily.” Mark calls it “bizarrely beautiful” how much influence a TV program can have on someone’s character.
