‘At one point my parents reprimanded me, which really shocked me.’
When actor Ferri Somogyi (50) was just in GTST, everything came to him without him having to do anything: trips, women, clothes, car races… The world was at his feet, but that didn’t make him a nicer person . “I hardly saw my friends anymore.” In conversation with Glamial he reveals how he is doing now.
Good busy
Ferri is doing well at the moment, but he is very busy. In addition to his work at GTST, he has set up his own company (ShoutOut.VIP, where you can buy groceries from all kinds of celebrities), and that takes up a lot of time, he shares. “Then I have three children at home who are all quite young and incredibly busy. Our twins are in the phase where they want to discover everything: hey, can you throw this plate on the floor? If you don’t pay attention, they’ll tear down the whole house. Meanwhile, they look at you so cutely that you think: oh dear, what is this going to be like later? It is enjoyable, but also intense.”
Reverse
When we ask him when he really felt on top of the world, Ferri is very clear: when he just appeared in GTST as a young twenties. “It all came to me without me having to do anything: cycling, trips, car races, clothes, watches. Of all the actors, I was the leader in terms of sponsorship. That car racing alone was worth 75,000 euros per year,” he explains. “The world was at my feet.”
But all that glitters is not gold. “That also had a downside, because you have to be strong to stay true to yourself in such a situation. I went a bit over the line that year. I hardly saw my friends anymore, I was only busy with myself and my work. At one point my parents reprimanded me: ‘Ferri, wouldn’t you just act normal?’ I was very shocked by that. I started thinking about it for a weekend and then I managed to turn it around.”
Good father
He is now completely happy with his wife Noëlle and their three kids, but during his bachelor time Ferri liked to show off his life. “When I was single, I went all out. There must have been people who thought: what kind of crazy is this? If I had my heart set on a girl, I would go all the way,” he laughs. But: “Always with respect, that’s how I was raised.”
He has now found great happiness with Noëlle. “We went all out: living together, getting pregnant. That was six years ago now and there are now five of us. It’s tough, me with my two jobs, she with her social media influencer work and three young children. We never sit still, we are constantly moving full speed ahead, but we laugh a lot and do as many fun things as possible together. That is very nice.”
This article is part of an extensive interview with Ferri from the latest Glamial.
