After Celine Dion, Beyoncé is also angry with Donald Trump campaign

The campaigns for the presidential elections in the United States are in full swing. The candidates are not averse to using music from popular artists for their campaign spots. Only Donald Trump apparently does not make any friends with this. First Céline Dion was angry, now it is Beyoncé’s turn.

Trump is not popular with the stars

A while back, megastar Céline Dion was absent from Donald Trump’s campaign. During one of the presidential candidate’s rallies, her song ‘My Heart Will Go On’ was used. The singer was not happy about this, partly because she had not been asked in advance. In response, she posted a statement on Instagram in which she made it clear that she did not support Trump’s campaign, nor the use of her music for his campaign.

After Celine Dion, Beyoncé is also not happy about the use of her music for Trump. Her song ‘Freedom’ is currently being used for the campaign of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. It is the official song of the Democratic campaign and Beyoncé herself gave permission for this. The song is used in commercials for Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz. In addition, the song is played at rallies for the Democratic candidate. So when Trump decided to use the song as well, Beyoncé was not happy.

Cease and Desist by Beyoncé

In response to the use of her song for the Trump campaign, Beyoncé’s team sent the Republican a cease-and-desist. With this, she asks Trump’s team to stop using her song. If he continues to use her song, the singer could go to court. A cease-and-desist is therefore a kind of legal warning. Beyoncé’s song was used by the Trump campaign in an online video that has since been taken offline. This makes it seem as if the campaign team has chosen to listen to the singer’s wishes. Beyoncé and Céline Dion are not the only artists who do not want Trump to use their music for his campaign. Earlier this month, singer Isaac Hayes threatened to go to court after the Republican used his song ‘Hold On, I’m Coming’ during several rallies. Other artists who have indicated that they do not want Trump to use their music are Adele, Rihanna and The Rolling Stones.
