André Hazes speaks out after “whore row” commotion

André Hazes has some explaining to do after his latest on-stage incident. Last Friday, he made a joke about his mother Rachel Hazes, calling her a “whore”. Not very nice, Dré!

André Hazes wanted to help the public

The singer responded to the commotion that had arisen on Wednesday in front of the camera of Shownieuws. On Radio 538, where he sang their new song ‘Zij Is Van Mij’ together with Mart Hoogkamer, André explained what exactly happened. “My father has a song ‘Een vriend’ and then I sing: ‘Help ik je minder uit de goot’ and then the audience sings: ‘Uit de goot hoer’. But people always find that a bit exciting to do. So I cheer up the audience beforehand by shouting that.”

Dré doesn’t literally call Rachel a “whore”

According to André, his words were a lot more innocent than the media portrays them to be. “In Breda, there was a man standing at the front who immediately shouted it from his toes and I treat the audience as if they were my friends, so I shouted back, because he said it with such conviction: ‘What do you call my mother?’ That’s what happened there,” he explains.

Shocking and unnecessarily offensive

But yes, whether mother Rachel is happy about that… In any case, she reacted furiously in Shownieuws: “This is very shocking and unnecessarily hurtful. They should both also be very happy that they are dealing with me, and that they would never have dared or done such things if André senior had still been alive. He would never have tolerated these statements, not from anyone at all.”

Contact Roxeanne and André

Although Rachel currently has no contact with her children, the contact between Roxeanne and André has blossomed again. Roxeanne is beaming with joy now that she is talking to André again, she said during the Edison Pop. And André is also only positive: “I am also super happy that we are talking and seeing each other again”, he told RTL Boulevard. Aww! According to André, they do not visit each other every day, but they do have good contact. He thinks that a little distance has done them good: “To not let it get worse.”

Nice uncle

Fortunately, Roxeanne and André never really had any big problems with each other. That’s why she’s so happy that he’s back in her life, not just for herself but also for her son Fender. He’s also happy with his uncle André. “Dré is also a really nice uncle,” she said. They both agree that the contact should just stay good now.
