‘I think that sometimes too much of a problem is made of it’
It’s no secret that family is incredibly important to Leslie Keijzer. In the latest Glamial, the Real Gooische Mother openly talks about her love for her husband and children, and reveals a fresh view on monogamy.
Old stamp
Leslie is a devoted mother, who in many ways still raises her children according to the old school. “I enjoy reading a book with the children every evening, but also letting them play outside. The iPad is only for holidays, we watch TV on television,” she says.
The Gooi mother would ideally like to have a ‘traditional’ large family, but after two pregnancy depressions, her health comes first. “Goof has already made an appointment for such a ‘cut’, but I had him cancel it at the last minute. Although for my health I am currently saying ‘no’ to another pregnancy, after having been diagnosed with depression twice. I would prefer to have five children, but that just isn’t possible for me.”
Relation
Leslie and her husband Govinda have two sons together, and the three of them are very happy. She reveals to Glamial what the secret of their relationship is: “I think the fact that Goof and I match so well is because we are opposites. He is serious and wants to have everything in order, I am not at all. And we can set each other free, I think that’s important.”
Monogamy
For Leslie, letting each other off the hook also means having a modern attitude towards cheating. Because although she herself has no desire to kiss someone else, she does believe that this is sometimes made into too much of a problem. “I am not giving Goof a free pass, but we were not born monogamous,” she explains. “It’s not fun, but it wouldn’t immediately mean ‘goodbye’ for me, as long as you don’t fall in love.”
