Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden raise a glass on their visit to Great Britain! The royal couple began their three-day visit to the UK on Wednesday, and one of their first stops was a quintessentially British experience: having a pint of beer at a local pub.
British style
What do you do when your Royal Highnesses from Sweden visit? Of course: first introduce them to the local pub. The couple entered The Three Blackbirds in Newmarket in good spirits, where the future Queen of Sweden served herself a princely pint. During their visit the pair also met the pub owner, discussed English pub culture and heard a presentation about East Anglia. Sounds like a successful first activity!
She raised her glass and visibly enjoyed her home-made icebreaker.
But there were also more serious, non-beer-related activities on the program. On their first day, the couple visited the STANTA training camp in eastern England, where Swedish military personnel provide training to Ukrainian soldiers as part of the British-led Operation Interflex.
Also time for some glitz and glamour
In the evening, the Swedish monarchs enjoyed a glitzy gala dinner at the Natural History Museum in London. The Duchess of Västergötland looked stunning in a silver sequin dress, adorned with glittering tassels from, yes: H&M! She combined the festive dress with a Nancy Gonzalez clutch in the same color. Hubby looked his best as usual, this time in a classic dark blue tuxedo.
While the crown prince couple drank beers in the pub earlier that day and were in military circles, they ended the day with a glamorous highlight. Well, the life of a royal is one of many contrasts!
