Today is the party for the little Prince François! The son of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie can blow out one candle today. The court therefore treats us to some cute photos of the little prince.
Prince François
Prince François, full name Prince François Henri Luis Marie Guillaume, will be born in 2023 on Monday, March 27 in the Grande-Duchesse Charlotte de Luxembourg maternity hospital. The little prince is the second son of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg and the younger brother of Prince Charles. His grandfather is Grand Duke Henri and his grandmother is Grand Duchess Maria Teresa – who are of course also very fond of the little man. He will be baptized in the church of Fischbach on June 4, 2023.
The little prince celebrates his very first birthday today. On the occasion of the prince’s first birthday, the court shares a number of photos showing the little prince with his parents and big brother.

No longer the youngest of the family
Prince François could temporarily call himself the youngest in the Luxembourg grand ducal family, but that recently changed. At the beginning of this year, the prince welcomed a nephew: Prince Balthazar. The little one was born on January 7, 2024, the second son of Prince Félix and Princess Claire of Luxembourg. Prince Balthazar has an older sister and brother, Princess Amalia and Prince Liam. You understand: François has plenty of nephews and nieces to keep him entertained!
On a working visit
Despite the young age of little Prince François, he has already been present on several working visits. Guillaume and Stéphanie have taken him with them a number of times. Together with his big brother Charles, the two princes attended a visit to a foundation where people with disabilities work in November 2023. In the same month, his grandparents, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, took the little princes to an exhibition. The court also shared a number of nice photos of this.

When Prince François was only seven months old, his parents also took him to a nursing home. The little charmer put a smile on the faces of the residents, who were only too happy that the little prince came to visit. A month earlier, the little prince accompanied his mother to the MUDAM Museum of Modern Art in Luxembourg City. They visited the ‘Sinnmaschine’ exhibition together, where the little guy also stole the show with his sweet smile.
Hopefully we will see the little prince make many more appearances in the near future. But for today we especially wish him all his favorite toys and a lot of treats. Heartily!
