It’s finally spring! That means nicer weather and longer days. This should of course be celebrated. These are the best activities to do at the beginning of spring.
A picnic
A picnic may be an obvious choice for spring, but that doesn’t make it any less fun! You can approach this activity in many different ways. For example, go to a park with friends and ask everyone to bring something tasty. This way you can enjoy tasty snacks together, and of course the sun. Of course, you can also have a picnic with your kids or your partner. Is the weather not quite suitable for a picnic yet? Then just put a rug in the living room!
Visit a petting zoo
You really don’t necessarily need children to go to a petting zoo. But if you do have them, this is certainly a fun activity. Go look at the lambs that have already been born. Pet the animals and enjoy nature. This is a fun activity for with your friends, with your partner or even alone.
Barefoot walking
Walking outside barefoot may sound like a bad idea, but this is actually a lot of fun! There are several special walking routes in the Netherlands that you can walk without shoes. This is even the intention here! This is certainly a fun activity for the adventurers among us.
Get a breath of fresh air on the beach
As far as we are concerned, going to the beach is wonderful in every season. But we definitely recommend it in spring! It is not yet warm enough to bake in the sun or swim. But you can take a nice walk and then have a drink on the terrace of a beach bar. When the sun shines this is really great!
Acting like a tourist in your own country
The Netherlands has many beautiful things to offer. Sometimes it can be great fun to act like a tourist in your own country. Choose a city you’ve never been to before and explore there. You might discover your new favorite eateries or sights this way. This is a fun daytime activity, especially when the weather is nice.
DIYs for spring
Besides getting out and about, there are also a lot of things you can do indoors to celebrate the start of spring. Think of fun DIYs that are focused on spring. Consider, for example, painting birdhouses. This is fun to do with children or with a group of friends with a glass of mimosa!
