Hospital responds to possible access to patient information by Princess Kate

And even Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is starting to get involved.

Things haven’t been going well for Kate lately, and recently it turned out to be another headache for the princess. Staff at The London Clinic, the hospital where she stayed earlier this year, have tried to access her personal medical information. The hospital and the government have now responded to the incident.

Confidential information

It must have been quite a shock for Kate to learn that at least one member of staff at The London Clinic had been prying into confidential information about her medical condition. “This is a massive security breach and incredibly damaging to the hospital given its impeccable reputation for treating members of the royal family,” an insider previously told The Mirror.

Statement The London Clinic

The management of The London Clinic is said to have started an investigation immediately after the revelation and informed Kensington Palace. The hospital has now issued a statement about the situation.

“Everyone at the London Clinic is acutely aware of our individual, professional, ethical and legal duties regarding patient confidentiality,” said CEO Al Russell. “We have systems in place to monitor the management of patient information and in the event of a breach, all appropriate investigative, regulatory and disciplinary steps will be taken. There is no place in our hospital for those who willfully betray the trust of one of our patients or colleagues.”

Rishi Sunak

Even Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is getting involved in the matter. “It is clear that there are strict rules on patient data that must be followed,” his spokesperson told Sky News. “I think we should all stand behind the Princess and Prince of Wales. We of course wish her a speedy recovery.” It’s clear that Kate can count on quite a bit of support!
