5 tips for the perfect job interview outfit

A first impression is very important, also at a job interview. This is how you put together the perfect outfit.

1. Colorful outfit

We understand that preparing for a job interview can be nerve-racking. That’s why it might not be the best choice to wear grey. And black clothing can quickly seem too dark, and you don’t want to convey that atmosphere. So choose a colour that radiates your character: are you calm and reliable? Then wear a blue garment. Do you want to show that you are energetic, driven and passionate? Then you can better wear a warmer colour such as yellow, orange or red.

2. Denim

Nowadays you can easily wear jeans to the office, as long as they don’t have big holes in them. Keep the entire outfit neat and appropriate: wear a slightly tighter t-shirt with a colored or oversized blazer, or wear a neat blouse with it. You can also alternate with different styles and colors of jeans: for example, choose cream-colored pants, or go for the flair model.

3. Shoes

Heels are super stylish, but of course they also have to be comfortable all day long. After all, it’s not nice if you can’t walk properly and your feet hurt because of the shoes. So go for block heels, for example: they are a lot easier to walk on. Or put on loafers or neat sneakers, with that you know for sure that you can keep moving all day long. Just make sure that the shoes are in good condition: those worn-out Vans or Allstars are better left at home.

4. Bare legs

You always want to look good for a job interview, especially when it’s hot. But not everywhere short dresses and skirts are accepted. Skirts and dresses that are longer than the knee are fine, but shorter is quickly questionable. What can you do about this? Try to compensate by wearing an oversized blazer, for example, or choose a top with long sleeves. Keep the balance by keeping the outfit covered and less covered, for example by wearing a long skirt and a normal top, or a shorter dress with long sleeves.

5. Transparent

Transparent tops are increasingly trendy, but for a job interview, a see-through top with a beautiful lace bra underneath might not be the best option. Do you really want to wear it, and does it make you very confident? Then use layers, so that you don’t see any weird things under the top.
