They are not obvious, but they are very useful.
A job interview remains exciting, so it is important that you prepare yourself well. By following these five (non-obvious) job application tips, you will be successful.
1. Don’t arrive too early
We all know that you should never be late for a job interview. But it turns out: coming too early doesn’t work in your favor either. Try to arrive ten minutes before the interview, so that you have time to find where you need to go, but don’t arrive thirty minutes in advance.
2. Exercise before the interview
Eat a healthy breakfast the morning of your interview and don’t consume too much caffeine. You can combat nerves by exercising, if you have time of course.
3. Wear something striking
Whether it’s a colorful scarf or a statement necklace, wearing something eye-catching can help you make an unforgettable impression. Try to keep it simple, so glitter glasses and boa are a bit too much.
4. Don’t act like a stranger
Pretend you already work there. Hang your coat on the coat rack and use a folder for the documents you need. Try to look like an employee, rather than a visitor.
5. Ask something personal at the end
A few personal and interesting questions from you can work incredibly to your advantage. This way you make the person sitting opposite you think.
Keep these interview tips in mind and you should be fine. Good luck!
