As a queen or princess you usually need more representative clothing than the average mortal. That costs money, time, money and energy, but Máxima has a clever trick for that.
Does a line appeal to her? Then she simply orders a garment in multiple colours. To prevent too much overlap, clever variations are made with colour, fabric, sleeves and accessories. The dress that Máxima wore yesterday when receiving the medal winners is a good example of this. The liver-coloured creation has a waterfall neck, which is created from two seams on the back. The designer, Edouard Vermeulen of Natan, has also provided the skirt section with vertical seams, from which horizontal pleats are created.
The same idea is also visible in Máxima’s red dress from the same period, 2011. By choosing a different fabric, colour and sleeve, the overall picture looks decidedly different. Although that is also due to the lack of a contrasting belt around the waist.
Another example: different fabric, different color, but the same lining. Including shorter lining.
