The queen is at work again!
Our Queen Máxima was recently spotted on skis during a winter sports holiday, but she has now returned to work. For example, Her Majesty visited the meeting workshop De JoJo in Sassenheim, and she apparently had a good time there!
Meeting workshop
The Oranges attach great importance to solidarity and charity. Naturally, plenty of ribbons are handed out to local luminaries, and ‘initiatives that matter’ are put in the spotlight every year with the Appeltjes van Oranje.
One of these winning initiatives last year was the Sassenheim meeting workshop, De JoJo. “At De Jojo Meeting Workshop in Sassenheim, run by the Repair Café Teylingen Foundation, visitors and volunteers can easily get into conversation with each other due to the casual atmosphere and the mix of activities. By working together, learning from each other and supporting each other, they become part of a strong community. That is why De Jojo matters,” can be read on the prize website.
High visitors
And yesterday our queen went to take a look in person. In addition to a repair café, you will also find a coffee corner, a woodworking shop, and a sewing workshop. After gratefully using the coffee corner, HM is given the opportunity to get a complete update from the volunteers present.

From studio to kitchen to woodwork: there is a pleasant chat everywhere.
For the occasion, Máx himself dressed in an outfit that we have seen before in different combinations, with a gray cape and blouse from Natan, gray trousers and of course a matching set of gray Gianvito Rossi’s on his feet.
Shopping with the Queen
Nice detail: Máx revealed during her visit that she also regularly visits a second-hand store. “Some things are very beautiful, so why wouldn’t you do it? I also think it is very important for circularity,” says the eco-queen.
To put his words into action, the queen proudly leaves for home with a box of Rummikub under her arm. “I had to bring something,” she said, laughing. In short: it will be a fun board game evening in the palace soon!

By the way, Máx also said that she regularly gives away her things. “This way it might be put to good use by someone else,” she shared.
Now we happen to know a duo with royal collections that recently started an initiative for second-hand quality items. Who knows: will we soon see second-hand Natantjes from the Queen at My Lima Lima? Fingers crossed!
