Frederik and Mary attended yesterday the funeral of Per Thornit, a veteran of the Danish court. For the sober ceremony, the queen had a hat altered.
Since January 14, the day of the Danish throne’s change of throne, we have seen Mary wearing a hat several times. Where she used to be reserved with headgear and was satisfied with one plank, she has added the accessory to her royal uniform. For Per Thornit’s funeral, she even chose a wide-brimmed one, which she combined with a wrap blouse and a midi pleated skirt.
The hat was previously used in 2016, but then with a large, white flower decoration with feathers. That is the ideal of such accents; you only have to undo a few stitches and the headpiece immediately looks completely different.
Mary was the only one present with a hat. She probably wore one because etiquette traditionally prescribes a head covering for church attendance. And last but not least, also note the beautiful shoes in the top and bottom photos. There are so many options to wrap your feet nicely!
