Punishment for Ali B
Ali B was accused by several women of sexual assault and rape. The rapper came into controversy after the BOOS broadcast, in which women told their stories about inappropriate behavior. The rapper was charged with four sexual offenses and with three women. The victims include Ellen ten Damme and Jill Helena (finalist of The Voice of Holland in 2013). The Public Prosecution Service finds it convincingly proven that singer Ellen ten Damme was raped by the rapper. With his behavior and use of violence, he created a threatening situation for her. The third victim is a woman who reported assault and rape at a writers’ camp in Heiloo in 2018. On Thursday, a new witness sounded the alarm to tell her story about the victim of the writers’ camp in Heiloo.
Transgressive behavior not tolerated
The public prosecutor states that transgressive behavior will not be tolerated, not even by a well-known Dutch person. “It pays to go to the police,” said the public prosecutor. The rapper spoke on Wednesday, where tears rolled down his cheeks and he denied everything. Ali B stated that the story has two sides. “This is the day you will hear my side of the story for the first time.” According to the public prosecutor, the rapper acted so suddenly and unexpectedly that the victims could not resist. “He had no respect for their physical integrity, but was only concerned with his own comfort.”
The case is resumed
The case was adjourned until 11:30 am on Friday 14 June. Ali B speaks briefly to the press in the hallway and he calls it ‘bizarre’ how much the Public Prosecution Service has left out in the ruling. “The longer it took, the more relaxed I became. I’m really looking forward to the plea. It’s so nice that a judge can protect you against a Public Prosecution Service that works like this. I have a lot of confidence in the outcome,” says the judge. rapper.
