The word is out: after long speculation, Princess Kate’s controversial uncle has now indeed made his entrance into the Celebrity Big Brother house. And that was at least… special.

Kate’s 58-year-old uncle, Gary Goldsmith, appeared as one of the contestants on Celebrity Big Brother UK yesterday. He is the younger brother of Kate’s mother, Carole Middleton. Rumors have been going around for a while about his participation in the program, and they now appear to be true.
But that participation? The family is not happy about this, to say the least. On X, Big Brother UK shares a video of Gary introducing himself to the Big Brother audience. “I am Gary Goldsmith, the uncle of our future Queen Catherine Middleton, the current Princess of Wales,” he begins his introduction, followed by some funny faces and special dance moves. A little later he says: “I often read that people think I’m a bit of a bad boy. I wish I could deny these rumors, but annoying people is my biggest hobby.” Uhm, excuse me?

The news of Gary’s possible participation in Celebrity Big Brother previously emerged in January this year. Royal author Angela Levin said at the time: “I think it’s cringeworthy and very embarrassing. The problem is that he doesn’t like Harry and Meghan, so some of the comments he’s going to make will fall on Catherine’s lap.
