‘When I was banned from cheering and shouting, I knew a new comedy series was born!’
We have been able to enjoy two seasons and a movie of De Luizenmoeder, the popular series that was created and written by Ilse Warringa. Now there is good news, because the recordings for her upcoming project have started today.
Football parents
Nothing captures the imagination as much as a cozy conflict between parents, as has become apparent. The Luizenmoeder was a huge success, and the series Hockeyvaders also received a lot of praise. Two years ago, Ilse already revealed that she was working on a series called Voetbalouders, and expectations were naturally high. And this morning, Netflix announced that the recordings for the new series have started today!
New series
What can we expect from this new series? In a press release Ilse explains that Voetbalouders will once again be a feast of recognition for the viewers. In fact: the series is based on her own experiences as an enthusiastic soccer mom.
“For years I have been standing on the sidelines every weekend watching my two children play football. When they banned me from cheering and shouting a few years ago, I knew a new comedy series had been born.” Ha!
“I’m really looking forward to turning all my experiences as a soccer mom into a recognizable and humorous series, because the behavior of parents on the sidelines is something you better laugh about,” she continues.
Also, part of the cast has already been revealed. For example, Ilse Warringa herself will take on one of the leading roles in addition to directing, and Eva van Gessel, Mariana Aparicio, Michiel Nooter, Edwin Jonker and Bas Hoeflaak will be seen in the series, among others.
Patience
Although Ilse came up with the idea for this series two years ago, the recordings started today. We will have to wait patiently until we can actually enjoy Voetbalouders. An exact release date has not been announced, but it is expected to be sometime in 2025. Oh well, enough time to watch De Luizenmoeder from start to finish again, right?
