What do you wear when you are introduced to an entire nation? Máxima decided to take the safe approach in 2001. Somehow she had to, because in the media she was mainly seen smoking, dancing and drinking. During her first official appearance, on Queen Beatrix’s birthday, she wore a suit that transcended the concept of old-fashioned in every possible way.
Something neat was also done for the engagement. A red dress with short sleeves from the New York tailor Joseph Ting.
For a visit to the Keukenhof, Máxima dressed in dark blue.
After the safe start with Dutch, Belgian, American and Argentinian designs, Máxima chose bright red from Valentino. I still hope she pulls this package out again. Also pay attention to the hair. What a full forest! The shape of her eyebrows is also significantly different.
A pantsuit from her New York office days was upgraded with a red scarf. Also pay attention to her shoes: there are Máxima’s Damproof pumps again.
This coat from Frans Hoogendoorn can easily serve another purpose due to its timeless design.

For the wedding of Haakon and Mette-Marit, heavy artillery was used: an evening dress from Chanel. Máxima also wore an Orange diadem for the first time.
A black and white evening toilet from Natan. She could easily wear this outfit again, as she did in 2012. Who knows during the diplomats’ dinner?
