‘I’m devastated’
Since announcing her cancer diagnosis, Kate has received support and compassion from people all over the world. Yet, of course, it mainly affects the people close to the princess. One of the Walesjes’ permanent designers has also expressed her concerns about the situation surrounding Catherine and her family.
Tough period
Amaia Arrieta is one of the regular designers for Kate, William and their family. Over the years she has designed several outfits for the children George, Charlotte and Louis. She hated hearing that Kate was ill. “I’m devastated at the moment. I think they are going through hell.”
Amaia Arrieta, the designer behind many of the garments worn over the years by the couple’s children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, told The Telegraph. “I hope they come back. It’s really personal,” Arrieta added.

Kate’s children have been wearing Amaia’s outfits since they were little. Amaia found out that the children were wearing her clothes when she saw a magazine in the supermarket. “The first time I realized Prince George was wearing my designs, I was in Waitrose and saw the picture of him on the cover of Hello! Magazine,” she recalls. “That was a huge moment, because they came to us, but you never know if they will actually wear it.”
Cooperation
Amaia worked closely with the children’s nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo. For example, she consulted with her about what outfits would suit the children during special occasions. “It’s often a very tight deadline,” she reveals. “We would do anything for them… the kids always end up looking great.”

Princess Charlotte wore a skirt from Amaia London in the family photo shared around Mother’s Day. The family photo became the topic of conversation because it was allegedly photoshopped. Kate eventually apologized for the Photoshop fails.
