During the recording of Good Times, Bad Times, Bertrie Wierenga lost her heart to colleague Dorian Bindels. Even though both actors know that kissing others is sometimes part of their job, Bertrie reveals in Rooijakkers over de Vloer that she does not really like seeing her boyfriend kissing someone else.
From sister-in-law and brother-in-law to soulmates
Bertrie and Dorian played each other’s sister-in-law and brother-in-law in Good Times, Bad Times. But off-screen there was no click at first. “It took a while before we liked each other,” the actress admits. “He’s actually not my type, it just wasn’t anything.” Dorian, now a former resident of Meerdijk, immediately thought Bertrie was a ‘very beautiful girl’. Yet, outside of Good Times, Bad Times, the feelings were not directly mutual. “We didn’t quite click right away. There was a bit of friction,” he explains. It was a kind of tension, but not the right one, the love tension. “I think she saw just too much who I was. And I think that was a bit exciting,” says Dorian about the early days with Bertrie. But the spark eventually flew and the lovebirds are now even expecting a daughter together. Cute!
Kissing scenes with others
But how does that actually work if your loved one has to play his crush with another actor? Bertrie explains: “It is of course your profession, so you know a little bit how it works and that it is very technical. You know that there is a camera on your nose and that there is not even a chance for romance within that scene, because you’re just working and doing technical things.” Yet the actress prefers not to see her sweetheart kissing anyone else. “I’m not going to watch it. That goes a bit too far for me. Then I would turn off the TV, yes. (…) I don’t feel good about that.”
A future full of love
What started as a spark on the set of Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden has grown into a loving fire. Bertrie and Dorian can’t wait to hold their daughter in their arms. Their romance proves once again that Cupid can touch you in the most unexpected places – even at work. We wish the beautiful couple all the happiness and love.
