Soft lips? Then you can better unlearn these bad habits!
It can be quite a challenge to keep your lips soft and kissable during the cold winter months. Despite endless use of balms, do you still suffer from that tight feeling and nasty skin? Then check whether you don’t accidentally make one of these 6 mistakes!
1. Wet
We all do it: lick our lips to combat dryness. As addictive as it is, don’t try to do this! It only gives satisfaction for a short time and leaves you with drier lips and the need to lick your lips even more often.
2. Don’t use SPF
UV damage can make your lips chapped. Therefore, choose a lip balm with SPF during the day.
3. Scented lip balms
Cherry balms, coconut balms, cinnamon balms: leave these products alone. Fragranced lip balms often contain irritants that will only dry out your lips more over time. If you want a really good balm, choose something natural, for example with beeswax or shea butter.
4. Bite off the skins
We know: it’s very tempting to peel those ugly skins off your lips, but don’t do it! It makes your lips cracked and ultimately chapped.
5. Lip products with menthol
They are known to make your lips fuller, but if you have chapped and sensitive lips, you would do well to avoid menthol. It only makes your lips more sensitive and vulnerable.
6. Long lasting lipstick
They’re great when it comes to color retention and convenience, but long-lasting lipstick can really dry out your lips – even if you apply a nourishing balm over it. Do you really want to get rid of your chapped lips? Then use natural lip balms and build up with normal lipstick and colored balms.
