A story you have probably heard a hundred times is that water is very healthy for you. Drinking water has many benefits and you will soon notice when you have drunk too little. Yet many people sometimes find it difficult to pin down the cause of various complaints. Does your body send these signals? Then it may be that you are not drinking enough H2O.
Signs that you are drinking too little water
Our body consists of about 55 to 60 percent water, so it is important to maintain this level in your body if you still want to function. It is sometimes difficult to drink enough water in a day because sometimes you simply forget to hydrate yourself. To prevent dehydration, your body tries to send different signals in the hope that you will listen. This is them!
Dry mouth + bad breath
A combination that no one likes: a dry mouth and bad breath. It seems like your body is punishing you, but it’s actually just a cry for help. If you suddenly notice that you have a dry mouth, then it is really time for a glass of water (or three).
Fatigue
Now you can link fatigue to several things, but a solution for fatigue can be very simple. Drink a few large glasses of water. There’s a good chance that most of your fatigue is gone. Let the coffee sit for a while, because this does the opposite of hydrating.
More hungry even though you have eaten enough
Hunger and thirst are very similar in terms of the signal your body sends. Do you feel hungry, but have you just finished a meal? Then don’t hesitate to drink a nice glass of water, as you will see, that feeling of hunger will go away in no time.
Muscle cramps
Having muscle cramps can also be related to dehydration. Your muscles work well when you get enough water, but they can’t handle too little water just as well. The result: muscle cramps. Here too, the solution is simple: drink more water, as much as you can!
Dark urine
It’s not very tasty, but it’s worth keeping an eye on. Dark urine is a real sign of dehydration. Do you see your pee color changing from dark to light during the day? Then it means that you are doing well in terms of hydration.
