Every woman has a washing schedule for her hair, right? You know, when you’ve figured out exactly when to wash your hair or when you can leave it for a day so that your locks look their best on the right days. Many ladies also prefer to shampoo in the evening or in the morning. Did you know that this affects how your hairstyle falls? Hairdressers give advice.
Wash hair if you have oily hair
It depends on your hair type whether it is better to wash it in the evening or in the morning. If you have fine hair that gets greasy quickly, the morning is the ideal time to wash it. “Make sure to apply shampoo to the roots and let the rest rinse through your hair,” advises hairstylist Tyler Colton. “If you have hair with a thicker texture, it doesn’t matter much whether you schedule a wash in the morning or in the evening. Then it mainly depends on your own preference and how long you need to style your hair in the morning.”
And curly hair
Hairstylist Amy Bradbury also agrees. “Ladies with thin, fine hair that falls out quickly and does not stay in shape should wash their hair in the morning.” If you have curls or thick, wavy hair, she gives the following advice: “I think it would be better to wash in the evening. I would let full curls largely dry during the evening, and let the rest dry while you sleep. You can brush or straighten your hair the night before and it will continue to shape itself while you sleep. You can do the quick finish in the morning.”
It can also depend on what type of haircut you want. “If you want straight, sleek hair, it is better to wash it in the morning. If you prefer a casual, beachy look, you can wash the night before.”
Additional tip from us: washing in the evening saves you time in the morning and that means sleeping longer!
