Dry January? These are the tastiest mocktail recipes

Well, New Year’s Eve is behind us and hopefully we have all recovered a bit from our hangovers. In January, many people participate in Dry January, or: not drinking alcohol for the entire month of January. Do you want to take up this challenge? With these three delicious mocktails it will be a piece of cake.

Mango Mule

A Mango Mule is an alcohol-free variant of the well-known Moscow Mule. We make the cocktail a bit more summery and fruity, without the alcohol. This is what you need (for one mocktail):

  • Three slices of cucumber
  • 30 milliliters of honey (or agave syrup)
  • 45 milliliters mango puree
  • 45 milliliters of lime juice
  • 45 milliliters of ginger beer
  • Ice

To make the cocktail, start by mashing the cucumber slices and honey in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Then add your lime juice, mango puree and ice and shake your cocktail well. Strain the drink into your glass through a sieve. For the best effect you can use a copper mug for this mocktail. Fill the glass with ginger beer and serve your cocktail with ice. Enjoy.

Virgin Watermelon Margarita

Margaritas are delicious! And you can also make very tasty variations without alcohol, such as this watermelon version. These are the necessary ingredients (for four mocktails):

  • A medium watermelon without seeds
  • 120 milliliters of lime juice
  • Four teaspoons of agave syrup
  • 75 milliliters of sparkling water

Start by cutting your watermelon. Place your watermelon pieces in a blender and puree them until you have about a liter of watermelon puree. Add your lime juice and agave syrup and mix again. Divide the mixture among four glasses and fill the mocktails with sparkling water. Insert a straw and enjoy!

Lavender Lemonade

Lavender not only smells very nice, it is also a very tasty ingredient to use in a mocktail. This lavender lemonade is delicious for every lavender lover. To make four mocktails you need these ingredients:

  • A liter of water
  • 120 milliliters of honey
  • Five tablespoons of dried lavender
  • 240 milliliters of lemon juice

To make the mocktail you can start by putting the water and honey in a pan and bringing it to the boil over medium heat. In the meantime, you can crush the lavender in a mortar. If you don’t have one, you can also put the lavender in a sealable bag and crush it with a meat mallet. Add your lavender to the boiling water and then remove it from the heat. Cover the pan and let the water steep in the refrigerator for two hours. After the two hours, you can take the water out of the refrigerator and strain it to remove the lavender pieces. Finally, add your lemon juice and serve your mocktail with ice!
