Royal present
The fire that started was fortunately extinguished, but the Norwegian court cannot say anything about the seriousness of the damage. However, a spokesman for the royal family, Guri Varpe, indicates that a member of the Norwegian royal family was present in the palace at the time of the attack. It is not clear who exactly it was, but he does say that it is in any case not the king and queen, nor the family of Crown Prince Haakon Magnus.
Arrested
Shortly after the incident, the man was fortunately arrested. It is said to be a 50-year-old man from Belarus, who was already known to the police. In fact, he is said to be wanted by the police in the Netherlands. Nothing is known about his motives yet. According to a police spokesperson, the man had several bottles of liquids with him when he was arrested. These will be investigated by a bomb disposal service.
