There is a new development in the sexual offense case against rapper Ali B. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) came up with a brand new witness statement on Wednesday evening. This occurred just after the first day of hearing had concluded.
Crying girl at bus stop
The new witness, a woman, came forward on Wednesday evening after seeing media reports about the case. She claims that she found a crying girl at a bus stop in Heiloo in 2018. She took the girl on the back of her bicycle and the girl allegedly told her that she had been assaulted or raped in Heiloo. The Public Prosecution Service decided to immediately interrogate the witness and received the report of this interrogation after midnight. The public prosecutor asked the woman to come to court on the second day of the hearing for further questions.
Lawyers Ali B are not amused
Of course, Ali B’s lawyers did not want to simply add the statement to the file. They believe the witness has been influenced by the media and call it a “blatantly false statement”. The court sees that the new statement does not fully match that of the victim, but did see important similarities. For example, the victim stated that she was taken to the station by a woman in Heiloo, which corresponds to the story of the new witness.
Accusations against Ali B
Rapper Ali B is accused of multiple sexual offenses against three different adult women. There were originally four cases against him, but one of them was dismissed by the Public Prosecution Service (OM). One of the women who filed a report is Jill Helena. Jill took part in The Voice of Holland in 2013 and reached the final of the program. Behind the scenes, things were less pleasant with coach Ali B. After the revealing ANGRY episode, which exposed the abuses within the program, Jill decided to report rape. In addition to Jill Helena’s case, there are two other ongoing cases against Ali B. These concern a rape case and an assault. One of the women who came forward for rape is singer and actress Ellen ten Damme. Although she did not make an official report, she did ‘report’ the incident. The Public Prosecution Service considered the incident serious enough to make a case out of it.
