And that produces nice images!
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima are planning a working visit to the United States this week. During their trip to the United States, the king himself got back into the cockpit, and in Atlanta the couple was even allowed to work in a prestigious hip-hop studio. Watch!
Willem-Alexander as co-pilot
The current government aircraft PH-GOV left Amsterdam for the United States on Sunday. None other than Wim-Lex himself flew the plane to Atlanta as co-pilot. After all, the king once trained as a pilot and must keep track of his flying hours. This is not the first time that he has taken a seat in the cockpit on his way to work. The king previously flew himself and Queen Máxima to Germany for a state visit, the king also put on his pilot suit again during the Caribbean tour in 2022, and he was also in the cockpit during the state visit to South Africa at the end of last year.
Working visit
The visit to the United States will take place from Monday 10 to Thursday 13 June 2024. The visit starts in Atlanta, where the king and queen first visited the governor of the state of Georgia. The royal couple spoke with the governor and CEOs of Dutch companies about economic collaborations, mainly in the field of sustainable logistics.

Frenna
During the working visit, the royal couple visited a renowned hip-hop studio, where artists such as Beyoncé and 2Pac recorded music. The well-known Dutch rapper Frenna accompanied the royal couple during this visit, where everything revolved around hip-hop. Frenna indicated that it is really a recognition for the hip-hop scene that the king came to visit.
“The genre comes from New York, but Atlanta is now leading. The biggest names of the moment come from Atlanta. It is special that the king chooses hip-hop, but especially for Atlanta,” Frenna said earlier.
Of course, Frenna showed his talents to the king and queen, but the royal couple was also allowed to turn a few buttons in the studio. And that resulted in very nice images!

Busy schedule
Not only did they visit the governor of the state of Georgia and the music studio, the Royal couple also visited the grave of Martin Luther King. Here they laid a beautiful wreath in honor of Martin Luther King.
The two will also visit Savannah, Albany and New York. An exhibition with Dutch artists, the New York district of East Flatbush and Savannah State University – the first public Historical Black Colleges and Universities – are still visited by the king and queen. A busy agenda!
