He would follow in his father’s footsteps.
According to British media, Prince William shared a nice detail about his eldest son Prince George at the garden party at Buckingham Palace last Tuesday. He has a very specific career wish: to become a pilot! The love for flying runs through the royal veins, so to speak.
Pilot in the making
Prince George will one day become King of the United Kingdom. But before that happens, there is still plenty of time to chase his own dreams. And the eldest of the couple has enough of that, as it became clear this week when William revealed a few things about his son’s ambitions. According to him, the little prince is ‘a budding pilot’. According to his father, he is ‘obsessed with airplanes and would like to become an air cadet’.
Interest in aviation
A few years ago, Kate also introduced her son’s interest in aviation. She then visited RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire and thanked the aircrew for their work in evacuating Britons from Afghanistan. In addition to a thank you from the then Duchess for the crew members, she also revealed a few things about her children.
For example, she told a member that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis all love aviation. And that doesn’t mean the apple falls from the throne, because Prince William of course worked for years as an air ambulance pilot at the ambulance.
Although heir to the throne William is of course busy with all kinds of things other than saving human lives, he is still closely associated with the ambulance service for the time being. The Prince is a patron of the Wales Air Ambulance charity and so remains committed to the work of his former colleagues. And who knows: perhaps his eldest son will succeed him one day!
