Well: you are either queen or you are not.
Tuesday was a day like so many others for Máxima. She got up, enjoyed a royal breakfast (we suspect), and jumped in the car to give a speech about budgeting in Utrecht. Dressed in a haute couture outfit of course, that is – because you remain queen, nun?
Speech Nibud
Máxima visited Utrecht last Tuesday morning to give a speech during the anniversary conference of the National Institute for Budget Information (Nibud). During her speech she talked about the fact that Nibud also taught her three daughters how to deal with money at a young age. “My children closely followed the tables on NIBUDJong in which you can see which pocket money level suits which age. And more than once they reminded me that they deserved a raise. Also for this: thank you Nibud,” she laughed.

Royal blue
Although the queen’s speech was largely about budgeting, she herself dazzled in a royal blue couture dress by designer Oscar de la Renta. However, we don’t want to hear anything about hypocrisy, because it was not a new item in the wardrobe, no: the queen previously wore the dress during a visit to Maastricht, as Fashion Queen Máxima tells us. Approved, so.
On to Amsterdam
After her visit to the Jubilee Congress in Utrecht, the queen traveled to our capital. Here she was present at the launch of the Amsterdam Stagepact MBO. During the visit to Amsterdam, Máxima was shown why MBO students are important for the city. She also received an explanation about what MBO students can contribute to social challenges such as the climate.

On this second visit we spotted a minuscule outfit change. Máx added an extra accessory to her look. A royal blue hat, that is. Like we said: you’re either queen or you’re not.
