7X things to do with baking paper

You undoubtedly have baking paper at home, but did you know that you can use it for much more than just baking? You can do even more of these things with it.

1. Baking paper as a protective layer when ironing

A handy tip when ironing delicate fabrics: use that handy paper as a protective layer between the iron and the fabric. By applying this you can prevent the fabric, such as silk, from sticking to the iron and it will prevent shine stains. This way you can still get your clothes nice and smooth, without the heat becoming a problem.

2. Clean the iron

Now that we’re talking about ironing: did you know that you can easily remove stains from your iron with paper and a little salt? Sprinkle some salt on the sheet of paper and iron over it. No more blemishes!

3. Remove water rings

Do you suffer from water, coffee or tea rings on your wooden furniture? You can place a sheet of the magic paper on it and iron it over it. The water rings will be gone before you know it!

4. Clean the shower and kitchen stall

Are you bothered by dried water droplets on your stainless steel tap or shower? Wrap up a sheet of paper and wipe it over the drops. This gently polishes the stainless steel and provides an extra protective layer, allowing your tap to shine like new again.

5. Storing cheese

Do you store your cheese in a container or in plastic wrap? From now on, store the cheese in baking paper to keep it fresh. This way the cheese can continue to breathe well and is less likely to sweat, something that quickly happens with plastic. Because it can lose moisture, the cheese will retain its flavor longer and be less likely to mold.

6. Prevent damage to cookware

Place some paper between bowls and cups to prevent scratches and prevent sticking. You can also protect your metal cookware, such as knives, with the paper to prevent rust. This way you can store everything neatly and keep it undamaged.

7. Protect wooden cooking items

The waxy coating of parchment paper helps protect wooden cooking items, such as cutting boards, ladles and dishes. It repels water and prevents scratches. It is best if, when you are going to cut meat, you first place a few sheets over the cutting board, so that the meat juice cannot penetrate. This means you don’t have to clean and disinfect for as long.
