From Princess Sofia of Sweden to our own Eloise.
Normally, royals keep an appropriate distance from TV programs for ‘the common people’, but sometimes something goes wrong somewhere and a high ranking person still takes the plunge. We list five royals who once appeared in a TV show.
1. Princess Sofia (Sweden)
Of all the women currently living within the palace walls, Princess Sofia has undoubtedly been the most striking TV appearance. Sofia once took part in – let’s say: not so royal – TV show. It was before she lost her heart to Prince Carl Philip, but still: the transformation from an almost naked woman with a snake around her body who makes her appearance in a reality show to a neat princess who adheres to royal etiquette continues until speak to the imagination.

2. Princess Delphine (Belgium)
When it comes to royal controversy, Delphine can handle it too. In 2020, after years of struggle, she was recognized as King Albert’s illegitimate daughter. Since then, to the dismay of many Belgians, she has gone through life as a princess. Delphine is also making waves as an artist, and that combination was the recipe for her participation in Dancing With the Stars. In 2021 she danced the stars from heaven in the Belgian version of the program. Watch and judge for yourself!
3. Meghan Markle (Great Britain)
She hasn’t been a royal for a while now, but Meghan definitely deserves a place on this list. Before Meg pledged eternal loyalty to Prince Harry, she starred on the silver screen as Rachel Zane in Suits.
Much earlier, in 2006, Meghan appeared as a suitcase girl on Deal or No Deal, the American version of Miljoenenjacht.

We thought Meghan had kissed her acting career goodbye for good after Suits, but if the rumors are to be believed, nothing could be further from the truth. The ex-royal is even said to have landed a role in a new spin-off of Suits. To be continued?
4. Maud Behn (Norway)
Another not-quite-royal is Maud Behn. However, the eldest daughter of the Norwegian Princess Märtha Louise is of course a grandchild of the King and Queen of Norway – a semi-royal. Maud showed off her singing skills during the Norwegian Masked Singer in November 2022.

5. Eloise of Orange (Netherlands)

Our own Eloise should of course not be missing from this list. She made her appearance in the neat program Het Perfecte Plaatje, although her participation still had a controversial edge. The countess appeared in the show in a swimsuit, which caused quite a few reactions. Fortunately, Elo could count on support from almost all of the Netherlands. Pride!
