A bachelor party is often something that is not paid for by the bride or groom. If we speak from the bride’s perspective, it is often the maid of honor or some friends or family who organize the entire party. The intention is often that the guests pay fairly for themselves and a portion for the bride herself. The costs of a large party can therefore add up considerably.
In the Netherlands we easily spend 125 euros per person on a bachelorette party. With an overnight stay you can quickly reach 200, 250 euros. This is per person, so the costs of the bride herself must also be added. For the wedding itself you also have to look presentable and a gift is also nice to give. In other words, a wedding is expensive, so for a bachelor party it is nice to keep it a bit budget-proof.
Less is more
Anyone who thinks that a bachelorette party has to be completely crazy: think again. The whole ‘less is more’ thing also applies here. You really don’t have to plan five big activities and have matching bathrobes. The drinks are nice, but you really don’t need all kinds of workshops (such as penis clay…). Stick to three major activities, such as a cocktail shaking workshop, a nice dinner with the girls and then finally a visit to the bar. It’s very stereotypical to see a stripper at your bachelor party, but is it really necessary? A stripper at a bachelor party is often seen as the ‘last chance’ to fully enjoy another male or female body in a permitted way. We sometimes have reservations about that, but don’t forget that it also costs money. Not only to get into the strip club, but also to give to the strippers.
